I always wondered how reverts feel, how their new life would be, how they cope leaving behind their blood relations for the sake of Almighty ALLAH.
The other day while attending one lecture, I met a lady; apparently she looked like a revert. Upon asking, she said YES and I got the chance to meet the first revert of my life. 🙂
We had a long and healthy conversation. I was keen to know about her struggles as how she became a Muslim. From our entire conversation, I would be sharing a little story of how she has learned to offer Salaah (2nd pillar of Islam, every Muslim has to offer 5 daily obligatory prayers).
She told me that she used to learn Salaah through YouTube, because she did not find anyone in her surroundings to make her learn Salaah. After watching videos on the website, she copied every prayer on the paper and stick it on the wall so she could read it during her Salaah.
Point to ponder is that being a Muslim by birth, we have taken Islam for granted. We take Salaah on a lighter note, don’t even the know the meaning of what is being prayed during our Salaah. Alhamdolillah, we are living with our families and certainly no struggles and hardships as compared to those who are Muslim by their own choice.
After meeting her, I realized that Muslim by choice might have stronger faith as compared to ours. Because they read the Quran completely with its meaning. Allah knows the best.
